American-Made Clothing
Here at Boathouse, American-made Apparel is what we do best. In fact, it’s the only thing we do. Founded in 1976 by U.S. Olympic rower John Strotbeck, we got our start designing and manufacturing the iconic Stevenson jacket in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While our American-made clothing line may have expanded, we’ve never changed—or compromised—our American roots.
On this page, you’ll find our American-Made Collection of hand-crafted Apparel designed to meet the demands of the world’s best athletes - or anyone with a love for outdoor adventure. Brave the elements in weatherproof jackets, parkas, and pants featuring advanced Gore-Tex® material that gives you breathable comfort and fierce protection from rain, sleet, and snow.

Why Shop Boathouse American-Made Apparel?
With so many clothing options out there, it can be difficult to know which brands to trust. At Boathouse, our proof is in our production. That starts—and ends—right here in the USA, where we design and manufacture our Apparel with our own in-house team. Nothing is outsourced. Everything is made with the same care and attention to detail as it was in 1976—with newer technology, bigger teams, and an everlasting, unwavering commitment to quality.
Whether we’re crafting corporate apparel for workplace team-building or field hockey apparel and lacrosse apparel for the pitch, we take a hands-on approach to our American-made clothing. Not only do we own the raw materials (from the fabric all the way to the fasteners)—we also handle every step of production, from cutting and embroidering all the way to inspecting and shipping.
Safe, Sustainable & Supporting American Jobs
Beyond the quality of our clothes, our American manufacturing process prioritizes sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint. We don’t waste resources on outsourcing labor or materials overseas, which means we save on raw goods and emissions at every step of the process. It also means your money goes directly to supporting American jobs.
Our facilities are FLA-certified for the highest standard of safety and quality. We keep our workers safe, and we go to great lengths to ensure that the athletes, students, and weekend warriors wearing our clothes are safe and comfortable, too.
